What this screen is for
Each configuration ties a module or document type to a print template and a set of printer settings: paper size and orientation, the printer to use, the number of copies, and flags for direct printing, asking for confirmation, roll paper and dot matrix output. The list shows all configurations with those settings side by side.
When to use it
Set one up when a document type should always print a particular way - a receipt to a roll printer, an invoice on A4 with two copies - so staff do not have to choose each time. Direct printing removes the confirmation step, which speeds up a counter but also means a mis-click prints.
What you see on this screen
Seven columns: Module, Template, Paper / Orientation, Printer, Copies, Options and Actions. The Options column carries short badges - Direct for automatic printing on save, Confirm where the print dialog is shown, Roll for roll paper and DotMatrix for dot matrix output - so the behaviour of every document type is readable in one pass.
Creating or editing a configuration asks for Module Type and Number of Copies, then two Print Options: Auto Print on Save and Show Print Dialog. Each copy is then configured separately, which is how a two-copy invoice can print an Original and a Duplicate: per copy you set a name, the Print Template (or Default Template), the Printer (blank means the system default), Paper Size, Document Title printed centred, Copy Type printed in the right corner, Footer Text, Orientation (Portrait or Landscape) and a Roll Paper switch.
A Hardware Detection panel can find devices attached to this computer over the browser serial, USB and HID interfaces - weighing machines, barcode scanners and USB printers - and use one as the printer. It states plainly that network, wireless and shared printers cannot be detected this way and must be typed in by their exact name.
Filters and actions
New Configuration creates one; each row can be edited or deleted. Deleting shows the module, template, paper size and printer before you confirm.
