What this screen is for
This prices a shipment without recording or billing it. You give a carrier, a destination, a weight in kilograms and a shipment date, and the result shows the zone the destination resolved to, the chargeable weight after rounding, the fuel percentage that applied on that date, and the total.
Beneath that, the calculation is broken out line by line: the freight with its fuel amount, then each surcharge with its base, its fuel where it attracts fuel, and its total.
When to use it
Use it after any setup change — a new rate card, a new fuel percentage, a country added to a zone — to confirm the whole chain works. It is also the quickest way to answer a customer asking what a shipment will cost, and to see exactly which step is wrong when a price looks off.
What you see on this screen
Four figures summarise the quote: Zone, the zone the destination resolved to; Chargeable weight, in kilograms after rounding; Fuel, the percentage in force on the shipment date; and Total.
The breakdown beneath has four columns — Line, Base, Fuel and Total — and one row per element of the price. The first is the freight itself. Each surcharge follows, shown as an added line, with a fuel amount only where that surcharge attracts fuel and a dash where it does not.
Filters and actions
The form takes a Carrier, a Destination entered as a country, a Weight (kg) and a Shipment date. Calculate prices it.
Nothing is recorded or billed, which is what makes this safe to run as often as you like. The date matters: it decides which rate card and which fuel percentage apply, so pricing a past shipment reproduces what it should have cost at the time rather than today's figures.
When a price looks wrong, the breakdown tells you which step to fix: no zone points at the country mapping, a freight figure that looks absurd points at the rate card, and a missing or unexpected fuel amount points at the fuel percentage or a surcharge's fuel switch.
