What this screen is for
Every product is counted in something. Units define what that something is, and they follow the product through purchasing, stock and sales.
Why it matters
Units are what make a quantity comparable. If the same item is bought in boxes and sold in pieces, the unit is what keeps stock, cost and price honest between the two.
