What this screen is for
This is the master list of your people. Cards across the top count everyone by status — active, inactive, on leave and terminated — and each card doubles as a filter, so clicking one narrows the list. Below that you can search by name or code and filter by status, department and designation. New staff are added here, and an import option brings in several at once.
When somebody's record is missing information needed before they can be invoiced or paid, an amber banner names how many are affected and lets you filter to only those rows. The banner is hidden when nothing is missing.
Why it matters
Almost everything else in Payroll reads from this list. A person who is not here, or whose status is wrong, will not appear when you run payroll or mark attendance.
What you see on this screen
- Employee — photo or initials, the person's name and their employee code. Sortable.
- Contact — how to reach the person.
- Department & Designation — the two groupings the person belongs to.
- Employment — the employment type: Full Time, Part Time, Contract, Internship or Freelance. Sortable.
- Location & Joining Date — where they are based and when they started. Sortable on joining date.
- Compensation — what the person is paid, sorted on basic salary. Where a commission is set, the rate or fixed amount appears underneath it.
- Status — whether they are working here now. Sortable.
- Actions — view, edit, history and delete.
Any custom field ticked "Show in List" under Settings adds its own column here, in the order set there.
Filters and actions
- Show Filters — opens the filter panel; the count beside it is how many filters are set.
- Select Employee — pick one person by name or code.
- Status — Active, Inactive, On Leave or Terminated. This is what the cards count.
- Department, Designation, Employment Type — narrow by grouping.
- Employee Status — the HR sub-status, shown only where your company has a vocabulary for it. This is where the person is in the HR process, not whether they work here.
- Pricing Tier — shown only where price groups exist.
- Joining Date Range, Min Net Salary, Max Net Salary — narrow by date and pay.
- Search and Reset — apply or clear everything.
- Show Deleted — a chip that switches the list to deleted records only.
- Import and Add Employee — bring several people in at once, or create one.
Applied filters appear as removable chips under Active Filters.
Status values
- Active — currently working here.
- Inactive — on the books but not currently working.
- On Leave — away, expected back.
- Terminated — no longer employed.
