What this screen is for
This holds the company information the rest of the system draws on. It opens read-only; choose Edit Profile to change anything, then save. The details are split across tabs for General, Address, Branding, Financial Year and a Danger Zone. A completion indicator at the top shows how much of the profile is filled in.
Why it matters
What you enter here appears on invoices and other documents, so a wrong address or tax identifier is reprinted on everything issued afterwards. The financial year settings decide which period reports fall into, so changing them affects how existing figures are grouped. The Danger Zone holds irreversible actions and should not be opened casually.
What you see on this screen
A Profile Completion card scores how much is filled in and suggests what to add next. Below it are five tabs.
General holds Company Type (Individual or Business), Company Name, Invoice Display Name, Tagline (a short strapline printed under your company name), your Laabam Connect ID, Business Type, Industry, Company Size and Date of Incorporation. Tax and Currency Information sets Currency and the tax identifier, whose label follows your country - GSTIN in India, ABN in Australia, EIN in the United States, VAT Number across Europe, Tax ID elsewhere - plus GST Registration Type for India. Contact Information covers Email, Phone, WhatsApp and Website. In India, Quick Fill with GSTIN fills the name, address and GST type for you.
Address uses field names matching your country, so India asks for PIN Code and Ireland for Eircode. Branding holds Company Logo and Favicon. Financial Year lists your years with Period, Status, Default, Current, Linked and Actions. Danger Zone holds Reset Company Data, which deletes the categories of transaction you tick while keeping settings and branding, and Delete This Company, which locks it now and deletes it after a seven-day grace period you can cancel from an emailed link.
An Additional Information card carries any custom fields you have defined for the company record.
Filters and actions
Edit Profile makes the fields editable, with Cancel and Save Changes. On Financial Year, Add Financial Year creates one, the star sets the default, and rows can be edited, closed, reopened or deleted. Close Financial Year and Open Next does both in one step. Both Danger Zone actions require you to type a confirmation word first.
Status values
A financial year is Open or Closed. Closed means no transactions may be added or edited in that year. Current marks the year new work falls into; Default marks the one pre-selected.
