Debit Notes

Handle purchase returns and debit adjustments — the document that reduces what you owe a vendor after returning goods or being overcharged.

What this screen is for

A debit note is the purchase-side mirror of a credit note. When goods go back to a vendor, or a bill charged more than agreed, a debit note records the reduction in what you owe them.

Why not just edit the bill

The vendor's original document stays as it was issued; your correction is its own dated record. That is what keeps your payables and their receivables able to agree with each other.
