What this screen is for
This screen controls the web address your company is reached at. The first part is your subdomain on laabam.app, which you can view and edit. The second is your own custom domain: add the full domain, and the screen shows the DNS records you need to create at your domain provider. Where the domain is on Cloudflare, an auto-apply option can add those records for you. Once DNS has propagated, refresh to verify; an SSL certificate is then issued automatically. A verified domain can also be removed here.
When to use it
Use it when first setting the company up, or when moving to a new domain. After adding records, allow time before verifying, and expect to refresh more than once.
What you see on this screen
Two cards.
Subdomain Setup holds a single field for your subdomain, with the laabam.app suffix fixed alongside it, and a hint giving the rules: a length range, letters, numbers and hyphens only, and it must start and end with a letter or number. Beneath, Current Subdomain shows the address your app is reachable at as a link. The button reads Save Subdomain or Update Subdomain.
Custom Domain starts with one field for the full domain, including any subdomain part, and an Add Domain button. A note explains that DNS records will need configuring at your provider afterwards, and that the screen detects the provider and gives instructions for it. Until a subdomain is set, the card warns that you need to do that first.
Once a domain is added, the card header reads Valid Configuration or Invalid Configuration, and a table of records appears with columns Type, Name, Value and a copy button. Where the domain is on Cloudflare, an Auto-Apply via Cloudflare panel offers to create the records for you. Otherwise a manual panel lists the steps for your provider. Once verified, the card confirms it and shows the address visitors can use.
Filters and actions
Add Domain registers the domain. Refresh re-checks DNS; expect to press it more than once, since propagation takes time. Auto-Apply DNS Records writes the records where Cloudflare is detected. Remove deletes a custom domain, after a confirmation warning that visitors will no longer reach you at it.
Status values
Once a domain verifies, an SSL line reports one of: issuing, which is the normal wait; active, meaning HTTPS is live; or failed, which asks you to re-check DNS and refresh to retry. The underlying values are pending, provisioning, active, failed and none.
