Cash In Tracker

A month-by-month grid of cash coming in across a financial year — invoice payments, loan disbursements, investments and more — with the entries behind each figure on hover.

What this screen is for

This is the receipts counterpart to the Cash Out Tracker. A financial year runs across the top as months, with your tracked sources down the side, covering invoice payments, loan disbursements, investments and other inflows. Hovering a figure shows the entries that make it up, with dates, descriptions and amounts. You move between years with the navigator and can add further items to track from the header.

When to use it

Use it when the question is when money arrives rather than who owes what — planning against a known pattern of receipts, or comparing one year against another.

What you see on this screen

Four cards: Opening Balance carried in from the previous financial year, Total Receivable, Total Received and Outstanding Balance.

The grid holds three fixed columns on the left — Particulars (the tracked source, tagged Manual where you added it by hand), Amount as a monthly figure, and Opening Bal from the previous year — then every month of the financial year, each split into three:

  • Receivable — what was due to come in that month
  • Received — what actually arrived in it
  • Balance — what remains of that month's receivable

A Summary block at the right gives Total Receivable, Total Received and Total Balance for the whole year, followed by an Actions column. Rows drawn from the books expand to list the individual entries beneath them; a manual row's monthly cells can be edited in place by double-clicking.

Filters and actions

The Financial Year navigator moves between years with the arrows or the dropdown. Category chips narrow the grid to one source, with All to clear, and a count of categories shown sits beside them. Hovering a figure raises a panel listing the entries behind it with their dates, descriptions and amounts, and a total; clicking the marker on a cell opens the same list in full, from which each entry links to the record it came from. Add Tracker Item adds a row of your own.
