What this screen is for
A group is a named set of customers or vendors with a discount percentage attached. The list shows each group with its colour, description, discount and status, and can be searched by name and filtered by status. Groups are created and edited from here.
Why it matters
The discount percentage is the part with consequences: it is applied when documents are raised for members of that group, so changing it changes what is charged from then on. It does not alter documents already issued. Deactivating a group is the safer way to retire it, since deleting one removes the grouping from every contact in it.
What you see on this screen
Five columns. Group Name carries a coloured dot alongside the name, which is how the group is recognised wherever it appears elsewhere. Description explains what the group is for. Discount is the percentage applied to documents raised for members - this is the column that changes what customers are charged, so it is worth reading before editing anything. Status says whether the group is in use. The last column holds edit and delete.
With nothing set up yet, the page says no groups were found and offers to create your first.
Filters and actions
A Search groups box matches the group name. A Status filter offers All Status, Active and Inactive. Rows can be edited or deleted; deleting names the group and asks you to confirm. The list is paged, showing which groups of the total you are looking at.
Status values
Active - the group is offered when assigning contacts, and its discount applies to documents raised for its members. Inactive - the group is kept for reference but no longer applied. Because deleting a group removes the grouping from every contact in it, deactivating is the reversible way to stop using one.
