Tax Payments

A register of the payments your company has made to tax authorities, with totals paid and pending, filters by tax type, status and date, and a form for recording a new payment.

What this screen is for

This screen tracks money actually paid over to tax authorities, as distinct from the liability your returns declare. Two cards show the total paid and the total still pending. The list carries a payment number, tax type, the period it relates to, the payment date, the amount and the status, and can be filtered by tax type (GST, VAT, sales tax, income tax, TDS), by status (paid, pending, overdue) and by date.

When to use it

Record a payment here whenever tax is remitted, so the register stays a true picture of what has been settled and what is outstanding. Use the filters when reconciling a period or chasing something marked overdue.

What you see on this screen

The header reads Tax Payments, subtitled "Track payments to tax authorities".

Two cards: Total Paid and Total Pending.

The table has these columns:

  • Payment # — the reference for the payment record
  • Tax Type — which tax it settles
  • Period — the period the payment relates to
  • Date — when it was paid
  • Amount
  • Status
  • Actions

Where nothing has been recorded, the page reads "No tax payments" and invites you to record payments to track compliance.

Filters and actions

Show Filters reveals the filter row: Tax Type, defaulting to All Types and offering GST, VAT, Sales Tax, Income Tax and TDS; Status, defaulting to All Status and offering Paid, Pending and Overdue; and a From Date. Reset clears them. New Payment opens the form for recording a payment.

Status values

  • paid — the payment has been made
  • pending — recorded but not yet settled
  • overdue — still unpaid past the date it was due
