What this screen is for
The overview of your stock position: levels, recent movements and the general health of your inventory. Alongside the charts, a list of the latest movements shows the item, whether it went in or out, the quantity, where the movement came from, its cost and when it happened.
When to use it
Open it to get your bearings at the start of the day, or when you want a sense of whether stock is behaving normally before going into detail. It summarises rather than explains; the screens it points at are where anything actually gets done.
What you see on this screen
Four cards open it: Total Items, Stock Value (Cost) — valued at what you paid, not what you hope to sell for — Low Stock and Out of Stock.
Two charts follow: Stock Movement Trend over time, and Items by Category.
Stock Alerts lists items that have run out or fallen low, each with its minimum level and selling price and a badge showing what is left; a red dot marks out of stock and a yellow one low. View all opens the reorder alerts screen.
Top Items by Stock Value ranks the items holding the most money, with the quantity and unit cost behind each figure, and links to the valuation report.
Recent Stock Movements is the table:
- Product — the item that moved.
- Type — in or out.
- Quantity — how much.
- Source — what caused it: a sale, a purchase, an adjustment.
- Cost — the value of the movement.
- Date — when it happened.
Movement Breakdown groups the same movements by direction and source, with a transaction count and total quantity for each. Quick Links reaches the screens where work is actually done.
Filters and actions
This screen has no filters; it reports the position as it stands. The panels link through to Reorder Alerts, Inventory Valuation and the stock screens, which is where anything is changed.
