Suppression List

The addresses and numbers that must not be contacted, with the reason each was suppressed - unsubscribed, bounced, complained or added manually - and the channel it applies to.

What this screen is for

Cards count total suppressions and the split by reason. The list can be filtered by email or phone, by channel, and by reason, and entries can be added manually as well as arriving automatically from unsubscribes, bounces and complaints.

Why it matters

Suppression is the record of people who have asked not to hear from you, or who cannot be reached. It applies regardless of which contact list or segment a campaign targets, which is the point: it is the safeguard that stops an old list re-contacting someone who opted out. Removing an entry re-enables contact, so do it only when you have a genuine, recorded reason.

What you see on this screen

Four counters: Total Suppressed, Unsubscribed, Bounced and Complained.

The table has six columns: Identifier (the email address or phone number), Channel, Reason, Source (where the suppression came from), Date and Actions.

Removing an entry asks you to confirm, showing the identifier, the channel and the reason, and states the consequence plainly: that contact will be eligible to receive campaigns again.

Filters and actions

Show Filters reveals a Search box taking an email address or phone number, a Channel filter offering All Channels, Email, SMS and WhatsApp, a Reason filter offering All Reasons, Unsubscribed, Bounced, Complained and Manual, and a Reset button. Add to Suppression List records one by hand.

Status values

Unsubscribed - the person asked to stop hearing from you. Bounced - the address or number could not be reached. Complained - the recipient reported the message as spam. Manual - someone added the entry here by hand. Channel scopes the suppression, so an email suppression does not by itself stop an SMS.
