What this screen is for
Templates let you create a document without starting from a blank page. The screen shows the templates available, searchable by name and filterable by category. Any templates you have saved yourself appear first, under their own heading, each with an option to use it or to edit it, and can be deleted when no longer wanted.
Choosing a template takes you into document creation with it already applied.
When to use it
When the document you need is one you send often — an employment agreement, a standard NDA, a recurring contract. Building it once as a template is faster than recreating it, and keeps the wording consistent between copies.
What you see on this screen
Templates are cards rather than table rows.
Your Templates, where you have saved any, comes first. Each card shows the template's title, its description — or a note that it is a saved custom template — and carries Use Template, an edit button and a delete cross.
The supplied templates follow, each card showing:
- The template's title and description.
- How many recipients it expects.
- How many field types it uses.
- Preview, Customize in editor and Use Template.
Preview opens a reading panel showing the document as it would print, with a page count and recipient count, and a side panel of Template Details, Signing Parties, Fillable Fields, Sections and Common Use Cases. The field types a template can use are signature, initials, date, text input, checkbox and number.
Filters and actions
- Search templates — by name.
- The category selector — All Categories, HR & Payroll, NDA, Employment, Sales & Services, Partnership, Purchase & Vendor, or Other.
- Clear filters — offered from the empty state when nothing matches.
- Build Template — opens the builder to create your own.
- Create Document — starts a document without a template.
- Use Template — goes to document creation with the template applied.
- Deleting one of your own templates asks for confirmation and notes that documents already created from it are not affected.
