Tags

Create and manage the coloured tags used to categorise invoices, expenses, purchases and other records, and see how often each one is used.

What this screen is for

Tags are a light way of grouping records that do not otherwise belong together - a project, a campaign, a particular client engagement. Each tag has a name and a colour, and the list shows how many times each has been used. You can search the list, and add, edit or delete a tag.

When to use it

Create a tag when you want to slice reporting or find a set of records later without changing how those records are structured. Deleting a tag that is already in use removes that grouping from the records carrying it, so the usage count is worth checking first.

What you see on this screen

Tags are shown as cards rather than a table. Each card carries a colour dot, the tag name, and a line reading how many times it has been used, with edit and delete buttons.

Adding or editing a tag opens a form with three fields. Name is required, with the suggestion of something like Marketing or a named client. Color is a colour picker with ten preset swatches; the colour is what identifies the tag at a glance wherever it appears. Description is optional. When editing an existing tag, an Active tick box also appears.

With no tags yet, the page explains that tags categorise your invoices, expenses and more, and offers to create the first one.

Filters and actions

A single Search tags box narrows the grid as you type; there are no other filters and no export. Add Tag creates one. Deleting shows the tag name and its usage count before you confirm, and warns that it cannot be undone.
