Overtime Register (Form XXIII)

Produces the statutory overtime register for a principal employer and month, listing each occasion of overtime with hours, rates and earnings.

What this screen is for

This screen generates the overtime register prescribed by the Karnataka Contract Labour rules, 1975. You choose a principal employer, optionally a work order, the month and the date payment was made. The register lists every occasion of overtime with the worker, the date, the hours, the normal and overtime rates, and the normal and overtime earnings. It can be exported to Excel.

Where no overtime was recorded for the period, the screen says so plainly and the exported register is marked nil, which is itself a valid return.

When to use it

Monthly, alongside the other statutory registers, once attendance and payroll for the period are settled.

What you see on this screen

The register is headed by the principal employer's name and the month, with a line counting the occasions of overtime.

  • # — the serial number.
  • CSLV — the worker's contract labour identification code, or a dash.
  • Name — the worker.
  • OT Date — the date the overtime was worked. One row is one occasion, not one worker.
  • OT Hrs — hours of overtime on that date.
  • Normal Rate — the ordinary hourly rate.
  • OT Rate — the rate paid for overtime.
  • Normal Earn. — normal earnings for the day.
  • OT Earn. — earnings from the overtime.
  • Total Earn. — the two together.

A footer row totals hours and the three earnings columns. Where no overtime was worked, the table is replaced by a panel reading NIL, explaining that the exported register will be marked nil.
