Biometric Raw Logs

The raw scans collected from your biometric devices, before they become attendance. Shows what is unprocessed, processed, in error or dismissed, and processes them.

What this screen is for

Every punch collected from a device lands here first. Five cards count the total logs and split them into unprocessed, processed, with errors and dismissed; each card is also a filter, so a number you can see is a number you can click through to. A further filter narrows by device, and a process-all action turns outstanding logs into attendance records.

When to use it

Come here when attendance looks wrong or incomplete for a day. A large unprocessed count means the scans arrived but were never turned into attendance; logs with errors usually mean a scan could not be matched to an employee.

What you see on this screen

Five cards head the page — Total Logs, Unprocessed, Processed, With Errors and Dismissed — and each one applies the matching status filter when clicked.

Two views then give the same scans two ways.

All Logs — one row per punch:

  • A tick box for selecting logs.
  • Device — which terminal recorded it. Sortable.
  • Device User — the id held on the device itself. Sortable.
  • Employee — photo or initials, name and employee code, or a Not Mapped tag where the device user has not been matched to anybody. Sortable.
  • Punch Time — the date, with the time underneath. Sortable.
  • Type — what kind of punch it was. Sortable.
  • Status — Processed, Error, or neither where it is still waiting.
  • Actions — the row's buttons.

Daily — one row per day, expandable into the people who punched:

  • A tick box, active only where a day still has something to process.
  • Date — the day, with its weekday underneath.
  • People — how many device users punched that day, with a note where some punches are unmapped.
  • Punches — the total number of scans.
  • First and Last — the earliest and latest punch times.
  • Status — small tags counting how many are done, pending, in error or dismissed.
  • Actions — process that day.

Filters and actions

  • Show Filters — opens Device, Status, Date Range and Reset.
  • All Logs / Daily — switches between the two views.
  • Process All — turns every outstanding log into attendance.
  • Process Selected — does the same for ticked rows only.
  • In the daily view, selecting days offers to process just those, and Clear drops the selection.

Status values

  • Unprocessed — collected but not yet turned into attendance.
  • Processed — an attendance record has been built from it.
  • Error — processing failed; hover the tag for the reason. The usual cause is a device user with no employee mapped.
  • Dismissed — set aside deliberately and not to be processed.

Punch types are Check In, Check Out, Break Out, Break In, OT In and OT Out; anything the device sends that is none of these reads as Unknown.
