What this screen is for
This is the company-wide time log. Four figures sit above the table: total hours, billable hours, the total amount those hours represent, and the uninvoiced amount still waiting to be billed. Each row shows the date, the project, the task description, the duration, the amount, and the entry's status.
Filters narrow the list by project, by status (draft, submitted, approved, rejected or invoiced), by whether the time is billable, and by a from and to date. New time is added with the Log Time action.
When to use it
Use it when preparing a bill to see which approved hours have not yet been invoiced, and when reviewing how much effort a project has actually absorbed.
What you see on this screen
- Date — the day the work was done.
- Project — the project the time is booked to.
- Task — the description, with a green marker where the entry is billable.
- Duration — hours and minutes.
- Amount — what the time is worth, or a dash.
- Status — how far the entry has got through approval.
- Actions — edit and delete, which appear only while an entry is still a draft.
Filters and actions
Show Filters opens six controls: Project, Status, Billable (all, billable only or non-billable), From Date, To Date and Reset. Log Time adds an entry. There is no export or print here.
Status values
- draft — recorded but not yet sent for approval; the only status you can still edit or delete.
- submitted — sent for approval and awaiting a decision.
- approved — accepted, and counting towards the uninvoiced figure until it is billed.
- rejected — sent back, and not billable as it stands.
- invoiced — already billed to the customer.
The filter lists these in title case while the badge on each row prints the stored value in lower case; they are the same five values.
