Daily Delivery Log

What was actually delivered on a round on a given day, customer by customer and product by product. It starts from the standing orders, so you change only what differed.

What this screen is for

What was actually delivered on a round on a given day, customer by customer and product by product. It starts from the standing orders, so the usual quantities are already in place and you change only the ones that differed — a house skipped, a double order, a short delivery.

When to use it

Fill it in daily, once the round is back and while the driver can still remember. This log is the record period billing is built from, so a day left unlogged is not merely a gap in the history: it is a day of goods the customer will never be charged for.

What you see on this screen

Two controls sit above the grid — Delivery Round and Date — and a note reminding you that the cells arrive pre-filled with each customer's standing quantity.

The grid gives one row per customer, in delivery order:

  • # — the delivery position, the order the driver worked.
  • Customer — the name, with their area beneath.
  • One column per product — a box holding what was actually delivered. Beneath each box, in small grey type, is the planned quantity from the standing order, so a changed figure can be seen against what was expected. A dash means that customer does not take that product, and there is nothing to enter.
  • Total delivered — a footer row adding each product column for the day. This is the figure to check against what left the depot.

If a round has customers but no standing orders, the screen says so and links straight to the standing orders screen rather than showing an empty grid. If the round has no customers at all, it says that instead.

Filters and actions

Save Log writes the day; nothing is stored until you press it. Changing the round or the date reloads the grid, so save before moving on.
