Vehicles

The register of every customer vehicle, searchable by registration, make, model or owner, showing the vehicle, its owner, tyre size and last odometer reading, with off-road vehicles marked.

What this screen is for

This is the full vehicle register. Each row shows the registration, the make, model, type and year, the owner and their phone number, the tyre size fitted and the last odometer reading recorded, with vehicles marked off-road shown as such. Search by registration, make, model or owner. From a row you can open the vehicle's full record, edit it or delete it, and Register Vehicle adds a new one.

When to use it

Use it when you want to browse or correct the register itself. If you are serving a customer and want history quickly, Counter Search is faster: it searches vehicles and customers together and shows spend and dues on the card.

What you see on this screen

The table has six columns:

  • Registration — the number plate, with an Off road pill beside it where the vehicle has been taken off the road
  • Vehicle — the make, model, type and year
  • Owner — the customer and their phone number
  • Tyre — the tyre size currently fitted
  • Odometer — the last reading recorded
  • Actions — icons to view, edit or remove the vehicle

A line beneath reads which vehicles are on display out of the total, with page controls alongside. Where nothing matches, it says so; where the register is empty, it offers to register the first vehicle.

Filters and actions

One search box, matching on registration, make, model or owner, applied with Search and undone with Clear. There are no tabs or status filters.

Counter Search in the header switches to the front-desk view, and Register Vehicle adds a new one.

Removing a vehicle asks you to confirm. The confirmation explains what actually happens: past bills keep their link so the service history is not lost, and the registration becomes available to register again.

Status values

The only state a vehicle carries here is whether it is on the road. A vehicle marked off road shows the Off road pill; everything else shows nothing. It is a plain flag, not a workflow.
