What this screen is for
Templates are shown as a grid of live previews, each with a marker for whether it is active. A filter at the top narrows the grid to one document type, and you can create a new template or open an existing one to edit. Clicking a preview opens it larger.
Why it matters
This is what your customers and suppliers actually see, so a template change alters the appearance of every document printed with it from then on, including reprints of older documents. Which template a given document type uses is decided in Print Configurations, so editing a template here and seeing no change usually means that document type is pointed at a different one.
What you see on this screen
Each template is a card carrying a live preview, its name, an Active or Inactive marker, and a System Template badge where it is one of the supplied designs rather than one of yours. The card buttons are Preview, Edit, Template Settings and Delete; a system template is read-only.
Opening Template Settings gives you Template Name, Document Type, Paper Size, Orientation, Description and Status. The document types are Sales Invoice, Quotation, Purchase Order, Receipt, Payslip, Delivery Note, Estimate, Work Order, Delivery Challan and Product Label. The paper sizes are A4, Letter, A5, Legal and five label sizes - 50 by 15 mm, 50 by 25 mm for barcodes, 100 by 25 mm and 100 by 50 mm two to a row, and 130 by 76 mm. Header Image replaces the standard company name block with a full-width image, and Footer Image prints a strip at the bottom of every page; both accept JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB.
Filters and actions
One filter narrows the grid to All Templates, Invoices, Quotations, Estimates, Receipts, Payslip, Purchase Order, Delivery Note, Work Order, Delivery Challan or Product Label. Create Template starts a new design. The preview window offers zoom in, zoom out and reset, and states that it is drawn with sample data rather than a real document.
Status values
Active - available to be used for printing. Inactive - kept but not offered.
