What this screen is for
This is the first step of courier setup. A carrier is a courier you ship with: it takes a name, a short code, a volumetric divisor used to turn length by width by height into a volumetric weight, and a choice of whole-currency or two-decimal amounts — a setting that affects the amounts billed, not only how they are shown.
Under each carrier you define zones. A zone has a code and a description, and countries are mapped into it by pasting them one per line or comma separated. A carrier with no zones cannot price a shipment at all, which the page states plainly against each carrier.
When to use it
Do this once when adding a courier, and again whenever a courier redraws its zones or you begin shipping to a country that is not yet mapped.
What you see on this screen
The carrier table lists Carrier, Code, Divisor (the volumetric divisor), Decimals (0 or 2) and Zones, the number of zones defined under that carrier, with edit and delete at the end of the row.
Beneath it, each carrier gets its own zone panel. A zone shows as its code and description, with the countries mapped into it as removable chips and a box to paste more. A carrier with no zones says so plainly: until a destination maps to a zone, no shipment can be priced.
Filters and actions
Five tabs run across the top — Carriers & Zones, Rate Cards, Fuel & Surcharges, Rate Calculator and Shipments Billed — and this is the first.
Add a carrier takes a Name, a Code, a Volumetric divisor (length by width by height, divided by this figure, gives the volumetric weight) and Money decimals, either whole rupees or two decimals. That last choice changes the amounts billed, not merely how they are shown.
Add a zone takes a carrier, a Zone code and a Description. Countries are added by pasting them into the zone's own box, one per line or comma separated; the message afterwards says how many were added and how many were already there.
Deleting anything warns first, and notes that invoices already raised keep the figures they were billed at.
