WhatsApp Campaigns

Create and manage WhatsApp campaigns, send a test message, and track campaigns, messages sent, delivery rate against attempted recipients, and read rate.

What this screen is for

The cards cover total campaigns with the draft and scheduled split, messages sent across campaigns, delivered with a delivery rate measured against the recipients attempted rather than only the successful ones, and the overall read rate. The list can be filtered, and a test message can be sent before committing to a campaign.

Why it matters

WhatsApp business messaging is template-based: campaign content has to come from a template that has been approved, so a campaign built on an unapproved template will not go out. The delivery rate is stated against attempted recipients deliberately, so failures are visible in the figure rather than quietly removed from it.

What you see on this screen

Four cards: Total Campaigns with the draft and scheduled split, Messages Sent across campaigns, Delivered with the delivery rate stated against recipients attempted, and Read Rate with the number of messages read.

The table has seven columns: Campaign (with the template it uses underneath), Status, Recipients, Delivery, Read Rate, Schedule and Actions. The Recipients cell names the contact list and its size, and warns where the list has since changed, noting that recipients refresh when you send - so the figure on a draft is not a promise.

Row actions are View, Edit, Duplicate, Send (or Send now on a scheduled campaign, which does not wait for the schedule), Retry and Delete. Retry sends only to contacts who never got it; the confirmation states that anyone already marked Sent is skipped so nobody receives it twice.

Send Test Message sends one message to a number you choose, either from a template with its variable values filled in, or as custom text - which only works if the recipient messaged your number within the last 24 hours, under WhatsApp policy.

Filters and actions

Show Filters reveals Search over campaign name, Status, From Date and To Date, with Reset. New WhatsApp Campaign creates one.

Status values

Draft - not sent. Scheduled - queued for its time; a scheduled campaign past its time is marked overdue. Sending - in progress. Sent - finished. Paused - stopped part way. Cancelled - stopped and not resuming. Failed - the send was refused. Templates themselves read Approved, Pending Meta review, Rejected by Meta or Not submitted, and only an approved one can be sent.
