What this screen is for
Your company's registration for PEPPOL, the network used to exchange electronic invoices between businesses. You record the country, the identifier scheme and your PEPPOL ID, your registered company name, tax and registration numbers and address, and the access point provider and API key through which documents will be sent.
When to use it
Complete it once, before you send your first electronic invoice, and update it whenever a registered detail changes. Nothing can be transmitted until a provider and a valid identifier are in place, and an identifier that does not match your registration will be refused by the receiving party rather than caught here.
What you see on this screen
The form is in sections. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
Business Identity — Country and PEPPOL Scheme, which together decide the shape of your identifier; PEPPOL Identifier, your unique address on the network; Legal Name, exactly as registered; and optionally VAT Number and Company Registration Number.
Business Address — required for compliance. An address search fills the fields, or you can type Street Address, City and Postal Code by hand.
Access Point Configuration — the Access Point Provider that will carry your documents, and the API Key they issued you. A Test Connection button checks the credentials and reports back in place, so you find out here rather than on your first real invoice.
Options, down the side, holds three switches: Enable PEPPOL (the master switch — nothing is sent or received while it is off), Auto-send invoices (transmit each invoice as it is issued rather than by hand) and Receive invoices (accept inbound documents from others).
Participant Lookup lets you check whether a business is on the network before invoicing them: choose a scheme, enter their PEPPOL ID and look it up.
Filters and actions
Save writes the configuration. Test Connection checks your provider credentials without sending anything. Participant Lookup queries the network and changes nothing.
