What this screen is for
This chart puts two weekly counts side by side: how many work items were raised, and how many were completed. When the created line sits consistently above the resolved line the backlog is growing, however busy the team looks; when resolved runs ahead, the queue is being worked down.
You choose a project and a window of the last 4, 8, 12, 24 or 52 weeks.
When to use it
Use it for a medium-term read on capacity — whether the team is keeping up with incoming demand — rather than for the progress of any single sprint.
What you see on this screen
- The horizontal axis is one group of bars per week, labelled with the week's starting date, running oldest on the left.
- The vertical axis is Tasks — a count of work items.
- Created is the red bar: items raised during that week.
- Resolved is the green bar: items completed during that week.
The bars sit side by side rather than stacked, so the comparison is direct. Red consistently taller than green means the backlog is growing week by week, however much is being closed. Green taller means it is being worked down. Bars of similar height mean the team is holding steady, which is a different thing from being on top of the work.
Filters and actions
Pick a project and a window: Last 4 weeks, Last 8 weeks, Last 12 weeks, Last 24 weeks or Last 52 weeks, starting at twelve. There are no tiles, no table and no export.
The short windows show the effect of a push; the year view is the one that shows whether a rising backlog is a busy month or a standing pattern.
