What this screen is for
An assessment template is the checklist of skills an instructor scores a student against. This screen lists the templates with their name, category, number of items and status, and lets you create a new one or edit an existing one.
When to use it
Set a template up before assessments of that kind start being recorded, and revise it when the skills you assess change. Deleting a template also deletes the assessment records made against it, so archive rather than delete if the history matters.
What you see on this screen
The screen is headed Assessment Templates, subtitled "Manage skill assessment checklists".
The table has five columns:
- Name — the template's name
- Category — how it is grouped
- Items — how many skill items the checklist holds
- Status
- Actions — edit and delete icons
Where none exist, the page reads "No templates yet" and offers to create the first one.
Filters and actions
There are no filters on this screen. New Template creates one, and each row can be edited or deleted.
Deleting opens a confirmation showing the template's name and how many skill items it holds, and warns explicitly that all associated assessment records will be deleted with it. That is the one thing to read before confirming: the student histories scored against that template go too.
Status values
A template reads either Active, meaning it can be chosen when recording an assessment, or Inactive, meaning it no longer appears in that list. Making a template inactive is the safe alternative to deleting it, because the assessments already scored against it are kept.
