What this screen is for
This form registers an investment or recurring financial commitment such as an insurance policy, a mutual fund plan or a chit fund. The investment number is allocated for you. You give it a name, choose the type, optionally set a category (or leave it to follow the type) and choose the payment frequency. The remaining sections take the amounts and dates the type calls for. Anything missing or inconsistent is listed at the top of the form before it saves.
When to use it
Set a commitment up here once, at the point it is taken out, so that its instalments appear among your upcoming payments and its value can be compared against what has been invested.
