Source

The list of lead sources — where your enquiries come from. Each has a name, a description, a colour and an active flag.

What this screen is for

A source records where a lead came from. This screen maintains the list: each entry has a name, a description, a colour used to identify it elsewhere, and a status. You can search the list and filter it to active or inactive sources.

Once a source exists it becomes selectable when a lead is created and appears as a filter on the lead list, which is what allows enquiries to be grouped and compared by origin.

When to use it

Add sources when you start a new channel, and retire one by making it inactive rather than deleting it, so leads already recorded against it keep their history.

What you see on this screen

  • Name — the source, with its colour dot.
  • Description — what it covers, or a dash.
  • Color — the colour the source is drawn in elsewhere, shown as its hex code.
  • Status — Active or Inactive.
  • Actions — edit and delete.

Filters and actions

Show Filters opens a search over the name and a status list offering All Status, Active and Inactive, with Reset to clear both. Add Source creates one, and the row icons edit or delete.

Status values

  • Active — offered when a lead is created and available as a filter on the lead list.
  • Inactive — retired. Leads already recorded against it keep their history, which is why switching a source off is the right way to stop using it rather than deleting it.
