What this screen is for
An allocation is the balance an employee holds for one leave type over a period. Each row names the employee and leave type and shows the total allocated, the newly allocated portion, the days used and the balance left, with the period it covers. Columns can be sorted, and the list filtered by employee, leave type and year, or searched by name or code.
New allocations are created from here.
When to use it
At the start of a leave year, to issue balances to staff, and whenever someone joins part-way through and needs a pro-rated entitlement. Come back to it when an employee questions a balance, since this is where the figure they are measured against is set.
What you see on this screen
- Employee — who the allocation belongs to.
- Leave Type — which kind of leave it is for.
- Total — the whole allocation for the period, new days plus anything carried forward. Sortable.
- New — the portion newly allocated, as opposed to carried forward. Sortable.
- Used — days already taken on approved applications.
- Balance — what is left. Green while there are days remaining, red once the balance has gone. Sortable.
- Period — the from and to dates the allocation covers. Sortable.
- Actions — delete, which asks for confirmation and repeats the employee, leave type, period and allocated days.
Filters and actions
- Search — by employee name or code, with a button beside the box.
- Show Filters — opens Employee, Leave Type and Year. A badge counts how many are set.
- Clear All — removes them.
- Newest First / Oldest First — a chip that flips the sort direction.
- New Allocation — opens a form asking for the Employee, Leave Type, a From Date and To Date, New Leaves and Carry Forward days.
