Visits

The log of calls your reps have made: which customer, on which route, when they checked in and out, whether they were at the shop, and what came of the visit.

What this screen is for

The log of calls your reps have made: which customer, on which route, when they checked in and out, and what came of the visit. Where the phone reported a location, the entry says whether the check-in was at the shop or some distance away; where it reported none, it says that too rather than guessing.

When to use it

Use it to confirm coverage — that the beat was actually worked — and to follow up outcomes such as an order taken or a shop found closed. The location filter isolates check-ins recorded away from the customer's pin, which is the short list worth a conversation rather than an assumption.

What you see on this screen

  • Visit # — the visit's own reference.
  • Date — the day of the call.
  • Customer — the shop called on.
  • Salesperson — the rep who made the call.
  • Route — the beat the call belongs to.
  • Status — see below.
  • Check-in / out — the two times, one arrow apart. Beneath them is the distance reading, and it has three states rather than two: a red distance means the check-in was further from the shop than your company's allowed radius, a green distance means it was at the shop, and Location not recorded means nothing could be measured — either the shop has no pin or the phone gave no fix. That third state deliberately does not look clean.
  • Outcome — what came of the call, in the rep's own words.

Filters and actions

Filters run across the top: Route, Status, Location (All visits, or Checked in away from the shop), and From and To dates. The Location filter is the one that produces a short, specific list worth acting on.

Log a Visit records a call by hand, for the times a rep could not use the app: salesperson, customer, visit date, status, check-in and check-out times, outcome and notes.

Status values

  • planned — the call is scheduled but has not happened.
  • in progress — the rep has checked in and not yet checked out.
  • completed — the call was made and closed.
  • skipped — the call was not made. A shop found shut, or a stop dropped to save the round.
