What this screen is for
This screen holds the sprints, or iterations, a project is planned in. Each sprint shows its name, its start and end dates where set, its status, and how many stories and tasks it carries. Filters narrow the list by project and by status. New sprints are created here, and one can be deleted, which cannot be undone.
When to use it
Use it when opening or closing an iteration, or when you need to see what a given sprint contains. Items are assigned to a sprint from the backlog or from the work item itself rather than here.
What you see on this screen
The table has these columns:
- Sprint — the sprint's name
- Project — which project it belongs to
- Status
- Stories — how many stories it carries
- Tasks — how many tasks it carries
- Timeline — the start and end dates, or No dates where neither has been set
- Actions — edit and delete icons
Where none exist, the page reads "No sprints yet" and offers to create the first one.
Filters and actions
Filters opens a panel with a Project select, defaulting to All Projects, and a Status select, defaulting to All Statuses, offering the statuses your company has configured. Reset clears both.
New Sprint creates one. Deleting a sprint opens a confirmation showing its name, its project and how many tasks it holds, and warns that the action cannot be undone.
Status values
Sprint statuses are configured by your company rather than fixed, so the dropdown and the badge both show whatever has been set up. New sprints start as planning unless told otherwise, and the usual set is planning, active, completed and cancelled, shown as Planning, Active, Completed and Cancelled.
