What this screen is for
This report analyses what production has cost. Summary cards give the totals for the period, and the breakdown by product shows, for each one, the quantity made and the material, labour and forwarding cost per unit along with the combined unit cost. You set the period with the from and to dates and can narrow to a single product.
When to use it
Use it when setting or reviewing prices, when a product's margin looks wrong, or when comparing what something cost to make this period against last. Because the figures are per unit as well as in total, a rise in volume is distinguishable from a rise in cost. The report can be exported as a CSV.
What you see on this screen
Four cards for the period: Total Material Cost, Total Labour Cost, Total Forwarding Cost and Grand Total, which is the three added together.
Cost Breakdown by Product gives one row per product:
- Product — what was made
- Qty — how many units were produced in the period
- Material/Unit — material cost divided by that quantity
- Labour/Unit — labour cost divided by it
- Fwd/Unit — forwarding cost divided by it
- Total/Unit — the three per-unit figures added together, which is what one unit cost to make
Monthly Cost Trends charts material, labour and forwarding across the months in the period, each bar naming its amount on hover.
Work Order Cost Details lists each order: WO Number, Planned Qty, Completed, Material, Labour, Forwarding, Total Cost and Cost/Unit. Every column can be sorted on, so the most expensive orders or the worst unit costs can be brought to the top.
Filters and actions
Show Filters opens Date From, Date To and a product selector, with Apply and Reset. Export CSV downloads the report as it stands.
