WhatsApp Message Logs

Every WhatsApp message logged for this company as a cumulative funnel - total, sent, delivered, read - plus replies, with a chat view that groups the same messages by person.

What this screen is for

The cards are a funnel, not a breakdown of the current status word: a message counted as read is also counted as delivered and as sent, so sent is always at least delivered, which is always at least read. Each card is clickable and filters the list to that stage. Replies sit apart, because an inbound message is not one of your deliveries. A chat view opens the same messages grouped by contact, in its own window so this page keeps its filters.

When to use it

Use the flat log to audit a campaign, and the chat view to read and answer what a particular customer actually said.

What you see on this screen

Six cards, each with a line saying exactly what it counts: Total (all logged messages), Sent (accepted by WhatsApp), Delivered (as a proportion of sent), Read (as a proportion of delivered), Failed (never accepted or never arrived) and Replies (received from customers).

Failures by cause groups the failures so you can see the single biggest reason first and filter to it.

The table has eight columns: Recipient, Direction, Message (with the template name where one was used), Type, Source, Status, Sent At and Delivered At. The Direction column distinguishes From us from From the customer, which is what keeps inbound replies from being read as deliveries.

Opening a recipient shows the conversation with that number in a panel, without leaving the filtered list.

Filters and actions

Show Filters reveals Search (phone, name or message), Status, Source (campaign, customer reply, test message, template test, invoice and so on), Direction (Both ways, From us, From the customer), Message Type, From Date and To Date, with Reset. Chat View opens the WhatsApp-style inbox where you can read and answer conversations. Send Test Message and Refresh sit alongside.

Status values

Queued - accepted here, not yet handed over. Sent - accepted by WhatsApp. Delivered - it reached the handset. Read - the recipient opened it. Failed - it was never accepted or never arrived. Remember these are cumulative in the cards: a read message is counted in sent and delivered too.
