Expiring Warranties

Warranty cover that is about to run out. The register counts warranties expiring within the next 30 days among its summary figures.

What this screen is for

This is about warranty cover approaching its end. Warranties are held as documents against an asset with an expiry date, and the register's Expiring Warranties tile counts those falling due within the next 30 days. The asset dashboard lists the individual warranties concerned, so it is the quicker way to see which assets they belong to.

When to use it

Check it monthly. A repair carried out a week after cover lapses is paid for twice over, and renewal or an extended warranty usually has to be arranged before the expiry date rather than after it.

What you see on this screen

The menu link narrows the register to assets holding an active warranty document that expires within the next thirty days, and the Expiring Warranties tile counts exactly that set, so the figure and the list cannot disagree.

The columns are the register's own: Asset, Category, Status, Assigned To and Value. The expiry dates themselves are not in this table — open an asset to see its documents, or use the asset dashboard, whose Expiring Warranties panel names the asset, the warranty and its provider, how many days are left and the exact expiry date.

Filters and actions

Show Filters narrows what is left by category or status, or searches by name, asset number or serial number. Clearing the filters with Reset drops the warranty condition as well and returns the whole register.
