Principal Employers

The establishments where your contract labour is deployed, as required under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) rules.

What this screen is for

When you supply workmen to another establishment, that establishment is the principal employer. This screen records them: the name, the establishment name, the entity, how many workers are deployed there, how many work orders exist under it, and whether it is active. The list can be searched by name or entity.

Why it matters

The statutory registers — muster roll, wage register and overtime register — are all produced per principal employer. Until at least one exists and has workers assigned to it, those screens have nothing to generate and will say so.

What you see on this screen

  • Name — the principal employer's name, with the establishment name underneath where one is held.
  • Entity — the entity the establishment belongs to, or a dash.
  • Workers — how many of your people are deployed there.
  • Work Orders — how many work orders sit under it.
  • Status — Active or Inactive.
  • Actions — edit and delete.

While the list is empty, the table is replaced by a prompt to add the establishment where your workmen are deployed.

Filters and actions

  • Search by name or entity — a single search box above the table.
  • Add Principal Employer — creates one.
  • The pencil icon edits a row; the bin icon deletes it, naming it in the confirmation.

Status values

  • Active — offered when generating a register or raising a work order.
  • Inactive — retained for history, no longer offered.
