What this screen is for
A salary structure is a named template that combines earnings, deductions and employer contributions into a complete pay package, so that staff on the same terms are paid on the same basis. The list can be filtered by country and by active or inactive status, and searched by name. If you have no structures yet, an option loads a set of samples to build from.
Why it matters
Run Payroll only offers employees who have an active salary structure. If someone is missing from a payroll run, this is the first thing to check.
What you see on this screen
- Name — what the structure is called, with its description underneath.
- Country — the country flag and name the structure belongs to, or Global.
- Currency — the currency it is denominated in.
- Frequency — how often it pays.
- Components — how many salary components it is built from.
- Employees — how many people are assigned to it.
- Status — Active or Inactive. The badge is a button: clicking it switches the structure on or off.
- Actions — edit, clone and delete.
When the list is empty, the table is replaced by a prompt to create the first structure.
Filters and actions
- Show Filters — opens the filter row.
- Country — All Countries or one of the countries offered.
- Status — All Status, Active or Inactive.
- Search — by structure name.
- Reset — clears all three.
- Load Sample Structures — offered only while the list is empty.
- Create Structure — builds one from scratch.
- Clone — copies an existing structure, which is quicker than rebuilding a near-identical one.
- Delete — asks for confirmation and repeats the name, the component count and how many people are on it.
Status values
- Active — offered when assigning an employee, and included in a payroll run.
- Inactive — kept for history. Employees on an inactive structure will not appear in Run Payroll.
