Workers Compensation

Holds your workers compensation insurance policies — carrier, policy number, classification, rate and cover period — so cover can be checked at a glance.

What this screen is for

This screen records the workers compensation insurance policies your company holds. Each row shows the carrier, the policy number, the classification code, the rate per hundred, the policy start and end dates, and whether the policy is active or expired.

Policies are added, opened and removed from here.

When to use it

Record a policy when it is taken out or renewed, and check the list when you need to confirm what cover is in force and until when. Because the period and status are shown together, an expired policy is visible without opening anything.

What you see on this screen

  • Carrier — the insurer the policy is with.
  • Policy # — the policy number.
  • Classification — the classification code the rate is set against, or a dash where none is held.
  • Rate/100 — the premium rate per 100 of payroll. The column heading carries a currency sign.
  • Period — the policy start and end dates, shown together.
  • Status — whether the cover is in force.
  • Actions — open the policy, and delete.

While no policies are held, the table is replaced by a short prompt to add one so insurance can be tracked.

Filters and actions

There are no filters; the list is expected to be short.

  • Add Policy — records a new one.
  • The pencil icon opens a policy; the bin icon deletes it, repeating the carrier and policy number in the confirmation.

Status values

  • Active — cover is in force.
  • Expired — the policy period has passed.
  • Any other value is shown in red, which marks a policy needing attention.

Related

  • Employees — the people the cover applies to
  • Statutory Payments — other obligations tracked alongside insurance
