DLT Templates

The DLT-approved message templates you may send, each with its template identifier, header, communication type, content and status. A sample authorisation letter can be downloaded here.

What this screen is for

Templates are listed with their name, DLT template identifier, the header they go out under, communication type, the content itself, the brand identifier and the status. Identifiers can be copied straight from the table. A panel at the top offers the header authorisation letter sample for download, which the registration process asks for.

Why it matters

SMS content is approved in advance, and what you send has to match the approved template exactly. Wording that merely looks the same is not enough: a different dash, quotation mark or currency character is treated as different content and the message is refused or billed at a higher rate. Each template also belongs to a registration and a header, and the pairing has to match.

What you see on this screen

A panel offers the Header / CLI Authorisation Letter Template, the sample letter the sender entity asks for during DLT registration.

The table has eight columns: Template Name, Template DLT Id (copyable), Header, Comm. Type, Content, Brand DLT Id, Status and Actions.

Adding or editing a template asks for Template Name (required), Template DLT Id (required), DLT Registration (required), Header (Sender ID) (required, and only headers under the chosen registration are offered), Communication Type (required), an optional Brand DLT Id, and Template Content (required), with placeholders written exactly as they are registered in the portal.

The content editor counts characters and variables live, works out how many SMS segments the message costs, and flags any character outside the plain SMS set - an en dash, a curly quote, a currency symbol - offering to replace each with a safe equivalent. It says why this matters: the operator compares your text to the registered template character by character, so one wrong character is rejected as a content mismatch.

The Status field is present but marked as set by the Laabam administrator, with the note that only an approved template can be sent and a campaign using a pending one is refused. Changing the content of an approved template sends it back to pending.

Filters and actions

There is no search or filter. Add Template creates one; rows can be edited or deleted; identifiers copy with one click. Download Template fetches the authorisation letter sample.

Status values

The communication types are Service Implicit, Service Explicit, Promotional, Transactional and Others. Approval status is set by an administrator against the DLT portal; only an approved template may be used.
