What this screen is for
This screen records stock moving between your warehouses. Summary cards give the position across the statuses, and the list can be searched by transfer, reference or warehouse and filtered by status, source warehouse, destination warehouse and date range. A transfer moves through draft, in transit and received, so goods in transit are visible rather than absent from both ends at once.
When to use it
Raise a transfer when stock leaves one location for another, and mark it received when it arrives. Keeping the intermediate state honest is what stops a shortfall at the receiving warehouse looking like a stock loss.
What you see on this screen
Four cards: Total Transfers, Draft, In Transit and Received. The table carries:
- Transfer # — the transfer number
- From Warehouse — where the stock is leaving
- To Warehouse — where it is going
- Date — the transfer date
- Items — how many stock lines the transfer covers
- Value — what the stock being moved is worth
- Status — draft, in transit, received or cancelled
- Actions — view, edit, Dispatch (which moves a draft into transit), Receive (which completes it at the far end) and delete
Transfer #, Date, Items, Value and Status can each be sorted on.
Filters and actions
Search by transfer #, reference, warehouse narrows the list. Show Filters opens Status, Source Warehouse, Destination Warehouse, Date From and Date To, with Reset and Clear All. A chip switches Newest First / Oldest First. New Stock Transfer raises one. Dispatching and deleting both ask you to confirm, the delete naming the transfer, both warehouses and the item count first.
Status values
- Draft — being prepared; the stock has not left
- In Transit — dispatched and not yet arrived; it belongs to neither warehouse's available stock
- Received — arrived and taken into the destination warehouse
- Cancelled — abandoned
