What this screen is for
The board shows a project's work items as cards arranged in columns by state. Dragging a card to another column changes its state, which is the quickest way to move work along. Filters narrow what is shown by type, state, area, iteration, assignee, parent item or a keyword, and cards can be expanded or collapsed to show more or fewer fields. From a card you can open the item, add a child item, or move it elsewhere.
When to use it
Use it for day-to-day tracking and for stand-ups, where seeing the shape of the work matters more than reading a list. Choose the project at the top; if a project has no items yet the board says so and offers to create the first one.
What you see on this screen
Five columns, in order: New, Active, In Review, Resolved and Done. Each header carries a colour dot, the column name, a count of the cards in it, and a plus link that creates a new item already in that column. A long column ends with a + more link and a Show fewer to collapse it again; an empty one reads "No items".
A collapsed card shows only its type icon, its reference, and its title. Expanding the cards adds the state, the assignee's name or Unassigned, who raised the item and, on finished cards, who closed it, a priority marker, and the child-item progress as done out of total.
Filters and actions
A project picker chooses the board, and a Type dropdown narrows to one kind of item. A density toggle switches between Expand card fields and Collapse card fields.
Filters opens a bar with Filter by keyword, Assigned to (with Anyone and Unassigned options), States, Area, Iteration, Parent work item and Raised by, plus Clear to reset them. A view switcher moves between Board, Backlog, List and Calendar over the same items.
Dragging a card between columns changes its state. The card's own menu offers Open, Edit, Add child item, and a Move to list of the five columns for when dragging is awkward.
Status values
The five columns correspond to stored states new, active, in_review, resolved and done. Work items can hold states outside this set, which your company configures; those items appear in the list and backlog views but not in one of these five columns.
