Shift Requests

Ask HR to change the shift you work: pick the shift you want, the dates it should apply from and until, and a reason. Your existing requests are listed with their outcome and any HR note.

What this screen is for

This is how you ask for a different working shift. The form shows your current shift, then asks for the shift you are requesting, the dates it should run from and until, and why you need the change. HR reviews the request. Your past and pending requests are listed alongside with their status, approved or rejected, and any note HR added.

When to use it

Use it when your circumstances change and the shift you are rostered to no longer works, whether permanently or for a fixed period. If no shifts are offered in the dropdown, your employer has not set any up yet.

What you see on this screen

Two panels side by side.

Request a shift change names your current shift, or reads "Not set" where you have none, and states that HR reviews and approves requests. Its fields are:

  • Requested shift — required; each option shows the shift name and its code
  • From — required; the date the change should start
  • Until — optional; leave it empty for a permanent change
  • Reason — optional, but worth filling in

Where your employer has not set any shifts up, the panel says so and names where they are configured.

My requests lists what you have submitted, with a badge counting those still pending. Each entry shows your current shift and the one you asked for, the dates it would run from and until, your reason in quotation marks, any HR note, a status pill and the date you submitted it.

Filters and actions

There are no filters, tabs or period selectors here. The only action is Submit request, which sends the request to HR. A request cannot be edited once submitted, so raise a new one if something changes.

Status values

  • pending, shown as Pending — with HR, not yet decided
  • approved, shown as Approved — the shift change was accepted
  • rejected, shown as Rejected — it was not; the HR note usually says why
