Work Items

The master grid of every work item across your projects, with filters, sorting, bulk actions and time logging in the row.

What this screen is for

A work item is any single piece of tracked work, and this grid is the list of all of them. Columns cover the reference, the title with who raised it and when, the assignee, the state and how long it has held that state, the area, the iteration, the due date, and the hours logged. Columns can be resized and sorted.

Filters cover project, type, state, assignee and who raised the item, plus a search over title or reference; a second row adds area, iteration, sprint, the date the item was created, and a logged-hours range. Active filters are shown as chips you can clear one at a time. Selecting rows reveals bulk actions to set state, priority, assignee or sprint, or to delete.

When to use it

Use it to work through a defined slice of work, to re-assign in bulk, or to find one item by reference.

What you see on this screen

  • ID — the reference, which opens the item in a new tab, with its project beneath.
  • Title — the type icon and title, any comment count, and beneath it who raised the item and when.
  • Assigned — who holds it, or Unassigned.
  • State — a coloured pill with how long ago it last moved; the column header also offers sorting by status order or by last updated.
  • Area and Iteration — where the item is filed, or a dash.
  • Due — the due date, red once overdue and amber when it falls today.
  • Timeline — a clock that logs hours, and shows created, started, finished, logged and status on hover.

Columns can be dragged wider and sorted, and the row number column counts across the whole filtered result rather than the page.

Filters and actions

The first row filters by Project, Type, State (the only one that takes several values at once), Assigned To, Raised By and a search over title or reference. More filters adds Area, Iteration, Sprint, Created and a Logged Time range in minutes or hours. Everything in force is shown as a chip above the table, removable one at a time, with Reset clearing the lot.

Ticking rows opens the bulk bar: set state, set priority, assign to somebody, set sprint (available when you have filtered to one project that has sprints), or delete. New Work Item offers all seven types.

Status values

States are configured by your company and each belongs to one of five stages: proposed, in progress, resolved, completed and removed. Priorities are urgent, high, medium and low.
