Navigating the Assets Dashboard

The Assets Dashboard provides a quick overview of all your company's fixed assets and their current status.

How to Access:

  1. Click on the Assets module icon in the sidebar
  2. View the Dashboard (default landing page)
  3. See overview statistics and quick links

Dashboard Sections:

  • All Assets: View complete asset list
  • Add Asset: Quick action to register new assets
  • Categories: Browse assets by category
  • Tracking Status: Monitor assigned, maintenance, warranty status

Section 2: All Assets

Viewing and Managing All Assets

The All Assets view displays a comprehensive list of every asset registered in your system.

Steps to View Assets:

  1. Navigate to Assets → All Assets
  2. View complete asset inventory
  3. Use search to find specific assets
  4. Filter by status, category, or location
  5. Sort by name, purchase date, or value
  6. Export asset list to Excel for reporting

Asset Information Displayed:

  • • Asset Name and ID

Section 3: Add Asset

Creating New Assets

Add new assets to track purchases, assignments, and maintenance.

Steps to Add an Asset:

  1. Go to Assets → Add Asset
  2. Or use Quick Actions → Add Asset
  3. Fill in basic information:
    • Asset Name (e.g., "Dell Laptop - John")
    • Asset ID/Serial Number
    • Category (Select from dropdown)
    • Brand/Manufacturer
    • Model Number
  4. Enter purchase details:
    • Purchase Date
    • Purchase Value
    • Vendor/Supplier
    • Invoice Number
  5. Add warranty information (if applicable):
    • Warranty Start Date
    • Warranty End Date
    • Warranty Provider
    • Coverage Details
  6. Set depreciation details:
    • Depreciation Method (Straight Line, Written Down)
    • Expected Life (in years)

Assigning an Asset to an Employee:

  3. Click Assign Asset button
  4. Select employee from dropdown
  5. Enter assignment date
  6. Add assignment notes (terms, conditions)
  7. Click Confirm Assignment
  8. Asset status changes to "Assigned"

Viewing All Assigned Assets:

  1. Navigate to Assets → Tracking → Assigned Assets

Returning an Asset:

  1. Open assigned asset details
  2. Click Return Asset

Sending Asset for Maintenance:

  1. Open asset details
  2. Click Send for Maintenance

    • Estimated Cost
  4. Upload service request documents
  5. Click Submit
  6. Asset status changes to "Under Maintenance"

Viewing Assets Under Maintenance:

  1. Go to Assets → Tracking → Under Maintenance
  2. View all assets currently in service
  3. Check expected return dates

Completing Maintenance:

  1. Open asset in maintenance
  2. Click Complete Maintenance
